Theme Behavioral Analysis Software will be used in ongoing research. Prof. Magnus Magnusson of Iceland University has developed theme. The software performs intensive structural analysis of real-time records of the behavior of one or more individuals. Theme was initially developed as a tool for the study of human (face-to-face) interactions, but its application has been extended to other types of behavioral phenomena involving different time scales.

COW project will be using Theme with the following specific research mandate. The project will cover only traditional occupations in remote villages.

What are the social, economic and cultural considerations do people have when they incur expenditure?

How do they measure value and risk when they make spend money?
