Georgetown University, Vital Voices, Stree Global Investments in Women
In October 2003, in Georgetown University Global Leadership Institute in collaboration with Vital Voices and Stree Global Investments conducted a program on "advocacy for clean and safe drinking water. Seven Indian women attended this program. These women are grass roots practitioners, journalists and academics working on rural water issues in India. They are Anjali Maydeo, Meena Menon, Pingali Raja Rajeswari, Alka Palrecha Rawal, Anu Sharat, Vijaya Shyamala and Bala Pathak. A proposal was made during this period to work on clean drinking water issues in Upparapalle village. On availability of funds this project will be implemented.
